Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential
Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
through the joint sponsorship of the Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control
(COSEHC) and the Inter-American Society of Hypertension. . The Consortium for Southeastern
Hypertension Control is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
CME Designation
The Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control designates this educational
activity for credit on an hour-per-hour basis in category 1 of the Physician's Recognition
Award of the American Medical Association. Each physician should claim only those
hours of credit he or she actually spent in the educational activity. The activity
will also be submitted to the American Academy of Family Physicians for review of
prescribed credits.
Continuing Education: Nurses and Pharmacists
Application for approval for nursing contact hours will be made through the North Carolina Nurses
Association, an accepted accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission
on Accreditation. This program will be submitted to the Continuing Pharmaceutical Education Review
Panel to obtain approval for credit towards pharmacist relicensure.
Disclosure
The Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control endorses the Standards of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and Guidelines of the Association
of American Medical Colleges that sponsors continuing medical education activities.
The faculty and planning committee for this educational activity will disclose significant
relationships with commercial companies whose products or services are discussed
in educational presentations.
