ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM

IASH invites all physicians, basic and clinical investigators, fellows, students, and other healthcare professionals to submit abstracts on basic, clinical, and population science research in hypertension and related areas for oral and poster presentations.

Abstracts may be submitted in any scientific discipline related to the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of hypertension, atherosclerosis, diabetes, or renal and heart failure. Abstracts may represent either completed works or results of work in progress. Previously published or presented abstracts will not be considered.

ABSTRACT SUBMITTAL GUIDELINES

  • Submit all abstracts in English
  • Abstracts are limited to 500 words. This includes the text plus any graph/table, but not the title or authors.
  • Organize the abstract by:
    1. Title
    2. Authors
    3. Background
    4. Objective
    5. Methods
    6. Results
    7. Conclusions
  • Define all abbreviations the first time they appear in the abstract.
  • Avoid formulas.
  • Use only the generic names of drugs.
  • Do not include references, credits, or mention of grant support.
  • Write title of abstract and name of presenting author in all caps.
  • Single space all typing; no space between title and body or between paragraphs.
  • A computer file of the Abstract Submission Form containing the abstract and author information may be emailed to iash-abstracts@wfubmc.edu. The file must be in a PC-compatible format, preferably Microsoft Word.
  • Proofread the abstract carefully to avoid errors before submission; the abstracts will be published in the conference syllabus exactly as they have been submitted.

GRADING / PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  • Abstracts will be scored by the IASH-2007 Abstract Review Committee according to scientific merit.
  • Abstract acceptance/non-acceptance status will be available February 09, 2007.
  • A presenting author is expected to attend the conference and present the abstract. Abstracts will not be considered without receipt of conference registration from the presenting author. Presenting author will receive the advanced registration rate (lowest rate).
